Every Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm The Akron Dream Center has Studio Lab. This is a program where youth in the community ages 12-18 can come and learn about muic production, writing, recording, misxing and mastering in a real recording studio. Student get the opprotunity to grow in their music skills as well as growing in their chartacter and as leaders in their community.

SAFETY SCRIPT AGREEMENT

We do everything we can to ensure that both students and volunteers remain safe. Please take time to read through our safety protocol.

2 LEADER RULE
The safety of kids is our top priority. We ensure the kids' safety, as well as our own, by always being always with at least one other staff member or volunteer. Make sure you are NEVER alone with a child. This is strictly enforced in all areas and locations.
If the 2 volunteers are related in any way, you must have a 3rd unrelated volunteer present.
If the 2 volunteers are both male, you must have a 3rd female volunteer present.

BATHROOM
NO volunteers should go into the restroom with the kids. Volunteers may choose to stand outside the restroom door, Kids and volunteers should use gender specific restrooms.

SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING
It is important that you know the authority you have as a volunteer. We have all been entrusted with the safety and well-being of every kid who comes through our doors. If you see anything that is even a little bit suspicious, please say something to your coordinator and we will look into it. Please do not communicate horizontally with others on your team, but directly with your coordinator.

COMMUNICATION
It is important that all communication with students and families flows directly from the coordinator or Dream Center staff. Volunteers AND staff are not to follow or connect with students on social media. Volunteers AND staff are not to reach out to students by phone number. Volunteers should never give their phone number to a student or family. We should not visit students outside of Dream Center programming.
